The upper lampshade is of raw copper while the lower lampshade is of clear/opal acrylic. Over time, the raw copper shade will get its characteristic dark glow and will finally become verdigris green. Thus, the lamp becomes more and more beautiful each year. The HL 410/590 lamp adorns a number of places as for instance the Navel Station Holmen, the square Gammel Torv in Aalborg, Hørsholm Cemetery and Horsens Hospital. The HL lamp provides a downward and diffuse light. The white lacquer lower side of the top shade increases the light output.
