Manuel Tojal Architects

Manuel Tojal Architects Studio is an architecture studio founded in 2014.  We develop projects of different scales and orders, with programs such as housing, services and public space. We work in collaboration with a variety of professionals, including engineers, landscape architects and artists. We dedicate ourselves to architecture in an almost obsessive way, where the incessant search for alchemy transforms the profession into a way of living. From rehabilitation to construction from scratch, the work method seeks to achieve non-normative, creative and transformative results. We are aware of the impact of the profession, on the planet, in the city, in the countryside and on people and therefore concepts such as sustainability, heritage and technology are fundamental to us. Our work translates into a great appreciation of the property and the management of the various expectations of the client. For us, it is essential to develop the more laboratory side of the studio, focusing on researching new construction techniques and materials, incorporating them into the studio's design method.

In recent years, the practice has been awarded several nominations: Prémio Municipal Arquitetura de Odivelas, PNAM 2023, PNAM 2017, among others. Recently, Manuel Tojal Architects Studio was selected as one of the 25 best practices in Architizer´s "25 Best Architecture Firms in Portugal".
