Stefan Hitthaler Architekturbüro

Stefan Hitthaler (Bruneck, 1966) graduated in architecture from the Leopold Franzens University of Innsbruck in 1991. After a short period of study in Paris and Munich, he returned to his hometown to open the studio "Hitthaler Architektur" in 1992. Between 2006 and 2014 he worked several times as a contract professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Ferrara. Transparency is a key concept of the office both internally, towards the firms, and externally, towards the client.

During these years, the office initially worked in the residential sector and then additionally moved into the fields of urban planning and interior design. The great interest in the topics of spatial quality and energy saving from the very beginning led to the planning of the first passive houses in Italy as early as 1993. His architecture has been published in important Italian and international journals (AD, Frame, Interior Design) and has been awarded important national and international prizes (I Prize FF Küchenaward, I Prize Südtiroler Architekturpreis 2002,2013, selection Premio Oderzo, I Premio Urbanistico Sostenibilità 2011). Some of his installations were represented at the XXI Triennale in Milan (Spaces: other philosophies of life), Innsbruck (Reagent) and Bruneck (Corpus Intra Muros).
