The design studio Lagranja has been tasked with shaping The Grove, a new coworking concept in Barcelona exclusively dedicated to beauty professionals. This project is the result of the initiative of Korean Jihee Kim and Barcelona-born Albert Aguiar, who, after working around the world, chose Lagranja Design to materialize their vision of a functional and revolutionary shared space in the city.
Located in the Gràcia neighborhood, The Grove is situated in a space with a complex geometry, resulting from a partially new building constructed over a small old house. Lagranja has intervened by regularizing the space and organizing it to make the most of its irregular structure.
Lagranja has embraced a dialogue between old and new: the existing textured walls have been painted in off-white, while the renovated areas contrast with smooth, glossy surfaces. The floor has been covered with a continuous salmon-pink resin, and the auxiliary spaces such as lockers, bathrooms, and the small kitchen are dressed in a reddish tone.
