Thanks to the know-how of Artemide, BIG's idea is once again transposed into a product that looks essential, but is actually packed with technological innovation.
The Veil suspension lamp features eleven arms that are connected around a central technological core which supports and powers them.
The flowing, precise curve of the arms reveals exceptional design and manufacturing expertise: the mere 25 mm diameter combines the structure with optics that control the light, which is softly diffused throughout the space.
This first version was the starting point for an entire family of solutions that share the same essential aesthetic of the illuminating arms.
In the task light, the light arm replicates the curvature of the elements that make up the suspension lamp, and is paired with a cylinder that counterbalances the projection and houses the electronics. The cylindrical, compact geometry of the base takes up minimum space on the work surface, leaving it uncluttered.
Despite the 60cm projection of the arm, everything is reduced to the bare minimum and calibrated to reflect contemporary needs, as work surfaces are increasingly small in size and multi-functional in nature, both at home and at work.
Veil table is a perfect solution not only for work spaces but also for hospitality and domestic settings thanks to its minimalist, sculptural lines that blend seamlessly with any surroundings. The structure is a single sign of light, so the light emission which is perfectly distributed across the work surface is accompanied by soft, diffused lateral light that favours a more complete and stimulating perception of volume.
The same principle is echoed in the floor versions. The cylindrical base supports one or two arms, the light forming a continuous and constant sign in both, starting from the base and lighting up the entire length of the structure.
This creates a diffused and enveloping light which is perfect from a perceptive point of view, favouring a relationship with the surrounding space and creating a welcoming mood.
In particular, the two-arm version is an ideal solution for living areas but also for new work spaces. These are more dynamic environments that seldom correspond to standard layouts and traditional work stations, instead hosting informal meeting areas and temporary work stations.
The position of the two arms, arranged at an angle of 90° one from the other, offers excellent operational light on the one hand, while also lighting the surrounding area, favouring a relationship with the space and offsetting any surrounding darkness.
It is a configuration that encourages a relationship and dialogue, creating large areas of light for sharing.
Veil thus becomes a complete and versatile family, increasingly universal in the quality of good light as an element that not part of a specific type or application, but that must instead be a common characteristic of all spaces.
